Why does my PNG transparency become white in the JPG?
JPG has no transparency support. The tool composites your image over the chosen background (default white). Pick a different background color to match your target use.
What quality setting should I use?
For web — 75–85% is usually invisible to the eye and significantly smaller. For print or archival — 92–95%. Below 70% you may see compression artefacts.
Will I lose detail re-encoding a JPG-derived PNG?
Yes — JPG is lossy. Each re-encode loses a bit more detail. Avoid round-tripping through JPG when possible.
