How to use

  1. 1 Type or paste the source text (article title, product name, etc.).
  2. 2 Pick the separator and toggle lowercase, stopword stripping, and max length as needed.
  3. 3 Copy the generated slug and use it in your URL.

Why use this tool

  • Handles diacritics — Vietnamese, French, German, Spanish, Scandinavian characters all transliterate to ASCII.
  • Optional stopword removal trims SEO-empty words like "the", "and", "of".
  • Max length truncation respects word boundaries to avoid mid-word cuts.
  • Runs entirely in your browser — your content stays private.

Frequently asked questions

What characters survive the slug conversion?

Only ASCII letters (A-Z, a-z), digits (0-9), and your chosen separator. Everything else is either transliterated (é → e) or replaced with the separator.

Will my Vietnamese / Chinese / Japanese text transliterate correctly?

Vietnamese diacritics (á à ạ ả ã â…) and Đ/đ are fully supported. Chinese, Japanese, and Korean characters do not have a single canonical romanization and will be stripped — paste the romanized form (pinyin, romaji) instead.

Are slugs case-sensitive on the web?

Path segments are technically case-sensitive in HTTP, but most sites lowercase slugs for SEO consistency. Keep "Lowercase" enabled unless you have a specific reason not to.

What does max length do exactly?

It truncates after N characters, then strips any trailing separator so you do not end up with "my-blog-post-".
